Adventure Club (Ages 6+)

Xcite Steps’ Kids Adventure Club is our Social Skills Therapy Group, or Social Club, for kids ages 7 and up who fall on the Autism Spectrum, or who experience social anxieties, PDD-NOS, or minor disabilities.  Our team of certified and licensed professionals have come together to structure a program that combines the most advanced ABA principals and goals with the Xcite Step’s Natural Opportunity Model.  This means that the children involved in this program receive high quality ABA Social Skills Therapy supervised by a certified and licensed professional in an environment that is fun and natural.  Every Saturday children attend engaging community outings where they build confidence in their friendship and social skills in a natural but coached setting.

The Adventures Club is a natural next step up from the Discovery Club. While still focusing on communication and social interaction by design, a major skill target is flexibility. This group meets at different community locations, where Adventurer’s learn to safely explore novel locations, stay within designated groups, and practice turn taking with peers. Most importantly, the group members will build upon social skills and reciprocal conversation with peers, laying the foundation for meaningful friendships. Individualized social skills deficits will be identified by Xcite Steps Supervisory staff and then targeted during the 6-week Adventures Club sessions.  The identified social skills for increase will be monitored and tracked throughout the 6 weeks.
